Part-Time, Seasonal Customer Service Associate Position
The Village Toy Shop – Newport Village, Port Moody
We’re looking for a friendly, outgoing person to join our team!
The Village Toy Shop is a busy, fun little store, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys being around people and helping customers find exactly what they need.
This is not just a cashier position. We want someone who is comfortable talking to customers, asking questions, offering suggestions, and helping make the shopping experience a great one.
The Position
This is a seasonal, part-time position on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the opportunity for more shifts as we get closer to Christmas.
Our store can get very busy, especially during the holidays, so we’re looking for someone who can stay positive, organized, and helpful while juggling multiple customers and tasks.
From $18.25 an hour. On site parking. Casual dress. Store discount.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Loves talking to people and is comfortable approaching customers
- Is friendly, upbeat and helpful
- Enjoys helping people find the perfect gift or product
- Is comfortable chatting with parents, grandparents, kids and everyone in between
- Can juggle several things at once without getting overwhelmed
- Works well in a fast-paced environment
- Is a team player and willing to pitch in wherever needed
- Is reliable, responsible and punctual
- Is interested in learning about our products and helping customers make good choices
What You’ll Be Doing
There’s a lot more to working in our store than ringing purchases through the till! Your day might include:
- Greeting customers and offering help
- Helping customers find products and gift ideas
- Making recommendations based on what they’re looking for
- Answering questions about our products
- Running the cash register
- Gift wrapping
- Restocking and organizing merchandise
- Keeping the store looking great
- Helping with deliveries and other day-to-day store tasks
- Jumping in to help wherever you’re needed when things get busy
The Big Thing We’re Looking For
We want someone who enjoys people — someone who will notice when a customer is looking around, offer help, have a chat, make a suggestion, and help create the kind of shopping experience that keeps customers coming back.
Retail experience is an asset, but personality, attitude and a genuine desire to help customers are more important.
Schedule
- Seasonal, Part-time
- Mondays and Tuesdays to start
- Opportunity for additional shifts closer to Christmas
- Availability and flexibility for extra holiday shifts is an asset
